Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry meets masterpieces from the MAK collection

This exhibition plays with sparkling contrasts and a surprising sense of closeness. Titled “GLANZSTÜCKE”, the MAK brings together rarely shown highlights from its own collection with jewelry art from 120 years of Van Cleef & Arpels, founded in 1906 at Place Vendôme in Paris.

At the heart of it is a dialogue on equal footing. Medieval textiles, iconic designs by the Wiener Werkstätte, and selected MAK objects meet pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Patrimonial Collection. Around 500 exhibits reveal how form, colour, motifs, and materials speak to each other across eras.

Dates: 10 June 2026 to 27 September 2026
Location: MAK, Lower Exhibition Hall

And from Hotel Beethoven Vienna, this fits perfectly into an afternoon: first a coffee with us in the Papageno Lounge, then on to the MAK to step into a world where craftsmanship becomes visible and design tells stories.
