Viennese water

Just turn on the tap and enjoy spring water? This is possible in Vienna. Vienna's high spring water begins its journey in the Styrian-Lower Austrian Alps and arrives in Vienna no more than 36 hours later in drinking water quality, without pumping and under the strictest controls. Vienna is not the most liveable city in the world for nothing!

New hotel uniforms designed by Eva Poleschinski

Exciting fashion news: We have teamed up with the renowned fashion designer, Eva Poleschinski, to create a new range of high-quality hotel uniforms. Poleschinski's unique and innovative concept captures the beauty and uniqueness of Vienna by using patterns developed from photographs of the hotel's surroundings—perhaps you'll recognize the Secession Dome. Our uniforms are sewn in Slovakia and made from organic cotton.

Quiz at the Beethoven!

For many years it has been an indispensable part of evening entertainment in England and in pubs all over the world: the Pub Quiz.

Pub Quiz: Guests join together in guessing teams (4 to 7 people) and answer as a team 20 tricky questions from all areas of knowledge.

The winning team of the evening is rewarded with a bottle of champagne; the team that answers all 20 questions correctly hits the current jackpot!

The "Quiz im Beethoven" takes place on the first Tuesday of every month in the hotel's mezzanine. Outrageously difficult and funny questions, together with Viennese delicacies and other classics of upscale bar culture, make heads spin and create a great atmosphere.

If you book quickly, you are sure to be there. You are also welcome to book individually or in pairs, in which case the tables will be mixed.

Quiet location near the Vienna Secession

The Beethoven is an elegant, 6-storey, historic building, constructed in 1902 in the Neorenaissance style, on the nowadays traffic-calmed Papagenogasse. Vienna aficionados will feel at home in the peaceful, tastefully furnished rooms, amidst the pulsating life of Vienna’s cultural and culinary heart.

We assist with finding housing, regularly hold flea markets with clothing and household items, provide furniture, and organize seminars to facilitate integration into various areas.

LVDWIG - die Bar an der Wien

LVDWIG - die Bar an der Wien

Anyone who knows Vienna loves the contradiction of this city. High culture and coziness, cosmopolitanism and petit bourgeoisie at the same time. Lvdwig is an ode to this unique lifestyle. A hand-picked cocktail menu, music and people as colorful as this city is. The design is by architecture legend Gregor Eichinger, the drinks by Isabella Lombardo. The bar is nestled in the cultural and culinary heart of the city - between the Secession, Naschmarkt and Theatre an der Wien.  After enjoying your drinks, you can choose to never leave the hotel and retire upstairs to one of our lovely rooms.

Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday: 17:00 - 24:00
Friday & Saturday: 17:00 - 01:00

4-star hotel situated on Vienna’s Naschmarkt

The location of the Hotel on the Naschmarkt allows Vienna aficionados to dive right into a typical Viennese lifestyle. The market, with its dozens of little stalls and selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and specialities, is a colourful and lively snapshot of Vienna, even more varied on Saturdays, with the farmers' and flea market. Both on the market itself and the areas around it, a trendy restaurant and bar scene has developed.

Interview Barbara Ludwig

Which room is your favorite?

The "Berta Zuckerkandl room", dedicated to a free spirited woman with a big heart.

This room is on the floor featuring strong women at the turn of the century. Because of their similar character - compassionate and at times impulsive - this historic figure reminds me of my mother.  Anecdotes exist for both women, their joy of life, spontaneity and their unconventional approach.

Commitment to culture

The culturally committed Ludwig family, who own the hotel, sponsor numerous Viennese cultural institutions, such as the Albertina, the Mumok and the Musikverein and inspire Vienna aficionados to special cultural delights: invitations to previews, exhibition openings, museum visits and preferential ticket orders at the Musikverein.
