The Heidi Horten Collection presents the exhibition LIGHT SOUND SENSES, which explores light as a physical and aesthetic phenomenon, aiming to stimulate our sensory perceptions. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the works to heighten their awareness of space, time, light, sound, and touch. Light is examined as both an indicator of technological development and a cultural construct. Works from the Heidi Horten Collection, loans from TBA21, and immersive installations offer a deeper understanding of light and our senses.

In the two-story exhibition, visitors encounter light art pioneer László Moholy-Nagy and delve into immersive light installations by Olafur Eliasson, Brigitte Kowanz, and Siegrun Appelt, which explore topics such as light pollution and the science of daylight research.

Tracey Emin and Joseph Kosuth use neon as an artistic conceptual material. A large-scale sound installation by Austrian artist Bernhard Leitner invites visitors to experience sound visually. Other artists use sound to sharpen body awareness. Finally, works by Lena Henke and Ernesto Neto engage the senses of smell and taste.
